Or A Memory You Had With Tye~

Picture
Born in February 1972, Tye died suddenly of heart attack Tuesday, May 11, 2010. The oldest of three sons born to Ken and Sally Kadota, he lived his entire life in Arroyo Grande. In 1990, he graduated from Arroyo Grande High School, where he was active in band, water polo and the Academic Decathlon. He was also active in the Boy Scouts for many years. While attending Allen Hancock Community College he discovered his love for dance, and while working at Festival Cinemas, his love of films. He had been employed as a night auditor for Holiday Inn Express and Oxford Suites. Tye had many interests, but his passions were his family, the Japanese culture and exploring the world. He had traveled to Japan eight times, Great Britain, France, Russia, Australia, Venezuela and was planning a trip to Botswana, Africa, this fall on his quest to visit each continent. Survivors include his mother, Sally; brothers Thomas and Todd (Wendy) and their children Levi and Hailley Cooper; grandfather V.R. "Fred" Fredlund; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenroku Kadota. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the San Luis Obispo Buddhist Temple, 6996 Ontario Road in San Luis Obispo. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a memorial fund to be divided amongst Tye''s favorite charities and causes. Donations can be sent to Sally Kadota, 2382 Left Lane, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. Marshall-Spoo 489-5552 Grover Beach

Wow.. I didn't know that Tye and apparently his father (first teacher I ever heard cuss in class.. first day of my freshman year!) had both passed. Tye and I worked at Festival Cinemas together (along with a lot of AGHS kids). He was so gungho about everything he did. At the time he wanted to work at Festival for 50 years so he could get a Golden Pass card that would allow him to go to the movies for free. LOL.

The Antonio boys knew the Kadota boys very well when we were growing up.. The Kadota's had us over for the Japanese tradition called boys day every year.. I will never forget those times, we played all day.. Tye used to play Kraftwerk in the theater before movies, I always thought that was cool.. Yeah and he would let me in free too, thanks Tye for the good times.. I know you are in a better place..

I knew Tye in high school and in Boy Scouts. He was great guy with a strong heart. I can still picture Tye on the kettle drums in Band (Tom and I sat next to each other in the Trumpet section), and remember his unique laugh and smile.

Mr. Kadota was my very first teacher at AGHS: Freshman Year, day 1, period 1 Algebra or Geometry. I remember that Mr. Kadota had many stories to tell. I still remember Mr. Kadota's rules from Driver's Ed every time I drive.

RIP folks.

I've just discovered this site so my apologizes and condolences to his family if they are much later than I would like.

I remember Ty as always shy, sweet & smart. I'm so happy he was able to go out and travel the world! He truly experienced life to the fullest. :)
My favorite memory of Ty was one Halloween he showed up at school with a bunches and bunches of neckties wrapped all over his body. When he was asked what he was dressed up as? Himself! A Tie of course! lol It still makes me smile.
