She lived in Richland, Wash., until she was nine, when she moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., for three years before her move to Pismo Beach. She attended Judkins Junior High School, graduated from Arroyo Grande High School and attended Cuesta College. She earned her Certificate in Reflexology. She worked for Dr. Higginbotham, both in the front and back office as a tech for six years. She was a wonderful mother, who fought the battles for her autistic son, Ian. She enjoyed fund raising events, such as the Walk for Autism through the Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center. She was a "hands on" mother and helped in her son's classroom. She loved the children. Anyone who knew Traci knows how much she loved her son. He was her whole universe. She loved to work and plant in her garden. She also enjoyed to make baby quilts for her friends. She volunteered at the Food Pantry at Five Cities Vineyard Church. She baked cookies for The Pantry each week. She also was collecting clothing for the Oklahoma disaster victims. Traci is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Ian; mother, Kathy Deniz; stepfather, David Deniz; brother, Jon Shong; mother-in-law, Didi Kimball; father, Brian Shong; and uncles, aunts and cousins.
