This is Champe McCulloch. He passed away December 10, 1984 in Studio City, California. He attended A.G. High and would have graduated there in 1969 but he moved with his family to Santa Maria before he graduated. He became close friends of the actor Earl Holliman and was close to entertainers like the Osmonds. Champe got a job working for the Late Night Johnny Carson Show and helped with securing guests on this show. He would talk with many celebrities on the phone, and in person, like famous Jack Benny and Jerry Lewis.

I knew Champe. Very nice young man. I was good friends with his sister Joanie.

I met Champe in 1980 while he was working on the Alan Thicke Show - Vancouver. He introduced me to many celebs and we would go to dinner with many of the guests on that show.

I was a friend of Champe’s, we met in Vancouver, and a year later he invited me to visit him and Earl in their little house in Studio City. They were great hosts, Earl toured us around L.A. in his big Colony Park station wagon and one of my best memories was stopping in to visit Peggy Lee. Champe loved to roller skate, and I met some of his friends while trying hard not to look like a newbie at the roller rink in N Hollywood; one friend I met was Alan Sues, from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In. He worked for the Tonight Show, and I remember arriving one day at the gates to the NBC lot in his white ’57 Thunderbird. Champe introduced me to Ed McMahon and we watched Johnny do his show. He surprised me a year later and flew all the way to the small logging town where I lived in northern British Columbia for the opening of my new discoteque. Yes, it was1980! I remember Champe with great fondness, he was a generous human being, and I especially remember his big smile. It was so sad that he was one of the many who passed in those very early days. I have some wonderful photos of Champe, if anyone wants to contact me I will send them to post.

To Brian Thorsness, I too was a good friend of Champe's working with him on The Alan Thicke Show. He was my roller skating partner at Pickwick where we would bowl as well. I would love to see your photos of Champe. I haven't found mine yet. Some fun ones dressing up for costume parties and such. Miss him. Earl would joke that Champe and I were like brother and sister. Good times, good guy, making room in Heaven when the time comes for the rest of us. God bless.
