I remember ,Santos was a good friend of my older brother, Manuel Evans. He used to come over to our house a lot in Arroyo Grande , until we moved to Santa Maria in 1971. I also remember he was killed in a car tragic accident on The Mesa, and that he had a VW bug, I think it was yellow Frank was his cousin, and Mary and Olivia's . Billie and Teresa were his sisters, amd I went to school with them at Ocean Elementary, and North Ocean. Everyone was sad when Santos passed away. I remember him singing one time with my.brother and their other friends but they didn't see me, but I happened to pass by, as he was a song about Bonnie and Clyde, after the movie came out, I thought it song was funny. The way he sang it it went ," Bonnie and Clyde, the way he use to screw her". I remember wondering what screw was at the time, lol. But anyway, I remember he was a really cool guy, always nice to me and my Mom, who sadly we lost in 2015.. God be with them both.

Sheesh, I'm 67 now and would have graduated with Santos in 1970 but; unfortunately for us he didn't make it. I used to hangout at the Evans household with Manuel, Donny, can't recall the youngest brothers name right off a lot. Somehow I managed to offend Johnny Apodaca and he challenged me to a fight. So we fought. I got tired and quit doubled over out of breath. Johnny frustrated that I wouldn't fight anymore swung to slug me upside my bent over head and just grazed me and Santos jumped in bear hugging Johnny and breaking up the fight. Santos and Frank were both on the quiet side unless you knew them well. Santos I believe wrestled 112's Johnny 140's I believe. I also believe that Greg was on that wrestling team. So, sorry to hear about Mrs. Evans passing. Think about Santos often because we were friends. Leo {Joe} Moreno too. Think about the Oceano crew all the time. Miss them all. Anyone who reads this knows me for sure. Oh yeah, I remember Santos' Vdub caught rides with him a few times. Memories.
