Samantha Michelle Ford was born in November 1985, and passed away following a long battle with cancer Friday, May 14, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed her youth in Camp Fire and later became a camp counselor. Enrolled in dance classes at the age of four, her second home became the Studio of Performing Arts, where she dedicated her passion to dancing, performing and teaching. She was an inspiration and will be missed by everyone she touched with her selfless encouragement and spirit. She will remain with us always. Samantha is survived by her loving parents, Tina and Mike Ford; sister, Andrea Ford; and boyfriend, Michael Brannum. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the New Life Community Church, 990 James Way in Pismo Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ;American Cancer Society or the Make A Wish Foundation. Lady Family Mortuary 489-4717 Arroyo Grande

When I was a kid, I lived two houses down from Samantha and Andrea Ford and there parents. Both Sam and Andi quickly became my best friends, and I loved them both. We spend hours and hours playing on the street, jumping on their trampoline, playing with my chickens in my backyard, having secret club meetings and talking about which boys from TeenPop magazine we thought were cute (I had a huge crush on J.T.T.). Sam got me into Jazz class with her where we danced and were in dance performances together. After I moved away, long after, I heard she had cancer, but I thought she was doing better, I heard she was going to nursing school. I am sorry Mike, Tina and Andi! I loved you all so much. Sam, I will never forget you, you were my first best friend, and Andi I love you too, I hope you know that and I hope you know your sister will always be with us. Sam! I can't wait to see you in heaven, dancing away. I love you Fords, God bless you. -Christa Hewitt (Smith)

Wow, i am shocked that Samantha has passed, i was a few years younger than her and also grew up at the performing arts center dancing, acting, and singing. She was an amazingly talented performer and teacher. I was always more of a singer/actress than a dancer, but she was very kind and patient while teaching me. When i was younger i guess i did not realize that the cancer could actually take her life, i thought she was going to be fine, low in behold years later i discover that she has passed recently. But despite the fact that her life was cut short, the time she did spend on earth, i could tell, was filled with joy and love, i know she touched many people, she seemed to have an amazingly supportive family and close relationship with her sister. This girl really was an angel...i am glad she was able to live such a passionate love filled life. Prayers go out to all of us, especially her family, because it is painful to part, for any period of time on earth, with such a sweet and amazing person. But i am confident that there will be a reunion, and that her soul will continue to dance on in peace, laughter, and joy.
