Roy Allen Richardson
In loving memory of Roy Allen Richardson, 73, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. Born in Los Angeles, Roy grew up in Pismo Beach and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1958. As a loving father, he will be remembered for his service in the U.S. Air Force, as a pilot instructor, musical skills and his kind heart. Fond memories of him spending hours at his grandparent''s skating rink in Pismo Beach, winning the Soap Box Derby three years in a row and his love for Bluegrass music will linger in his families memories. Roy was an excellent musician, played the guitar and harmonica, and especially loved to play his banjo. Roy is survived by his twin brother, Ray Richardson and family; four children and their spouses Julie, Natalie, David and Daniel Richardson; four stepchildren and their spouses Ron and Michael LaThorpe, Rene Musolino and Rachell Gibbons; and 20 grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his father, Roy F. Richardson; mother, Winnifred L. Richardson; and brother, Michael Richardson. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at La Perla Del Mar Chapel, 205 Windward St. in Shell Beach. Roy''s love for his family and the inspiring musical joy he shared will forever be in our hearts. We love you and miss you, Papa!
