October 28 ~ June 14, 1977

PISMO BEACH Richard A. Mason, 19, died Tuesday in a San Luis Obispo hospital. Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) at 1 p.m. in the Wood Funeral Home Chapel of Arroyo Grande, with the Rev. Paul Bruton, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of San Luis Obispo officiating. Cremation and burial at sea followed. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Mason of Pismo Beach; the paternal grandmother, Sally Mason of Lancaster; two brothers, Jim Bob Hogue of Texas and Randy Mason of Pismo Beach; one sister, Shanon Mason of Pismo Beach and many friends.

Richard, you were the little brother I never had. We grew up side by side, exploring first the deserts in the Antelope Valley, and then the hills of Pismo Heights. I miss you and cannot believe all this time has passed since your horrible accident. I think of you often. Love you, Kathy

Hi Bryan! I was 11 when we lost Rick and Kathy and I remember your sister fondly.. Randy lives in Texas and I will will pass along your message and number. Aloha!!
