Pauline was born Dec 20, 1940 in Oakland, CA to Jeannette [Jurkovich] & Horace G. Towle. She had many fond childhood memories growing up in Mountain View where they lived while Horace worked for Southern Pacific Railroad.
In 1948, Horace transferred/moved to San Luis Obispo, then retired in 1951. The family moved to Fair Oaks, where Horace owned/operated Towle Realty (an Eagles Booster during the 50s).
Pauline loved her school years, and graduated from Arroyo Grande High in 1958.
Pauline eloped with her first husband, James L Terry in Apr 1958, and their son James Jr was born in Nov 1959, followed by daughter Kerry in Nov 1961. They divorced in Mar 1965.
She then met and married Mike A Ramos in Apr 1966. Their son Michael S was born in Jan 1967, followed by daughter Vikki in Oct 1968.
Pauline loved being a 'stay at home' mom, and being involved with all the kids' activities.
When the kids started leaving the nest, she purchased & operated the California Uniform Center from Mar 1983 till she was ready to retire [and visit grandkids] in Sept 1995.
Mike retired in Nov 2000, and they traveled to Hawaii [repeatedly] and to Greece by plane; criss-crossed the USA by RV many times, and cruised Mexico. Her happiest adult years were being with her children and grandchildren (& Chumash Casino).
She developed diabetes, congestive heart-failure, and failing kidneys. She fought gallantly to live until her passing on Jan 2, 2010, six-years to the day after losing her daughter Vikki.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norma, her daughter Vikki, and grandson Nicholas. She is survived by her husband Mike, sons James (April) Terry, & Michael (Linda) Ramos, and daughter Kerry (Michael) Stream; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many extended family members.
Pauline lived a good life, yet wanted everyone to know that even a good life can be cut short when you smoke too long, and you don't take proper care of yourself.

I am so sad to have seen today that Vikki passed and to see too that you all have now lost your Mom. She was a very nice person. She was kind to me when I came to visit with Mike and Vikki at their home. She was a very nice lady and I know that she is in God's hands now and at peace. Much sympathy to your family.
