 GROVER CITY - Michael Ross Thompson, 18, a resident of Arroyo Grande died Sunday in an Arroyo Grande hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Chapel, Grover City. Burial will follow in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.  Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 15, 1963 in San Francisco. He had been a resident of Arroyo Grande for the past six years. He attended Arroyo Grande High School, where he participated in the band. He was a member of the San Luis Obispo County Youth Symphony and played the viola. Survivors include his mother, Juliet Thompson, Arroyo Grande; father, Ed Glassco, Arroyo Grande; sister, Maureen Glassco, Arroyo Grande; and grandparents, Betty and Anthony Misterly, Ontario, Calif. Friends may visit from noon until service time Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made In his honor to the San Luis Obispo County Youth Symphony, P.O. Box 430, San Luis Obispo, 93406.

I remember Mike as being such a sweet boy. He had a kind and tender soul and I still get a lump in my throat when I think of him passing at such a young age. I hope his parents know what a fine young man Mike was (I think they do) and that there were many people who cared about him and cried when he passed.
