Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover City for Mark A. Abenido, 30. Pastor Gilbert Rincon will officiate and burial will follow in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Mr. Abenido was born in Santa Maria on Aug. 2, 1958. A lifelong Arroyo Grande resident, he attended elementary school in Guadalupe and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School with the class of 1976. He was employed with Union Sugar as a liquid sugar operator at the Santa Maria refinery for seven years. His hobbies included art, golfing and working on cars. He died Thursday, Dec. 22, 1988, in a San Luis Obispo hospital. He is survived by his parents, Ernest Be-Bop and Frances Abenido of Arroyo Grande; his grandfather, Edward Nisperos of Guadalupe; two brothers, Greg Abenido of Grover City and Richard Abenido of Oceano; two sisters, Carilyn Abenido of Guadalupe and Cathy Abenido of Arroyo Grande; one niece, Ashlee Abenido of Grover City and one nephew, Jacob Abenido of Arroyo Grande, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. People who wish to send flowers may make donations to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be on Monday from noon until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover City.
