Juan Manuel Rojas Gomez

Nuestro Querido hijo, hermano, tio y amigo. Our dearest son, brother, uncle and friend. Juan Manuel Rojas Gomez, 37, native of rural Arroyo Grande Nipomo Mesa, passed away Nov. 10, 2003, and joined our beloved beautiful Mom Juanita R. Gomez and eldest brother Jesus in Heaven. His big heart and warm smile belonged to all who knew him.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph/s Catholic Church, Thompson Road in Nipomo Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with Father James Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Santa Maria Cemetery, where Juan/s final journey will end with him being placed with his mom, where he would have chosen.

Juan was born Jan. 15, 1966, in Santa Maria to Heberto T. Gomez and Juanita R. Gomez. He owned his own gardening business, Gomez Gardening, and he cared for his many clients. He had a love for nature and enjoyed camping, fishing and especially the beach.

Juan greatly loved his dad, Heberto, whom he lived with, and was treasured by his extensive family of 11. Juan was loved by his many nephews and nieces. He was Godfather to and known as "Nino Juan" to most of them. He was Nino to Louis J. Gomez Jr. and Elisa Deanna Gomez Ferrey, Larissa Monique Lopez, Monica Maria Gomez, Theodora Grace Cabacungan, Samuel Austin Cabacungan and Jesse William Cabacungan.

He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched, especially his dad, Heberto T. Gomez, of Arroyo Grande; siblings, Maria R. Gomez of Arroyo Grande, Frank Lopez and wife Adella of Santa Maria, Irma Munoz of Houston, Texas, Joe Lopez and wife Susie of Santa Maria, Gloria Gomez of Westminster, Heberto Gomez Jr. and wife Leticia of Nipomo, Jaime Antonio "Jimmy" Gomez of Nipomo, Belinda Gomez-Cabacungan and husband Sammy of Nipomo.

Because of his sudden death and because of the recent death of his mother on Jan. 24, 2003, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Juan R. Gomez Memorial Fund at any Mid-State Bank to help ease the cost of final expenses. All donations and prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements under the direction of Lady Family Mortuary and Crematory of Arroyo Grande.
