Joseph W. Rouette of Arroyo Grande and Valley Center, CA, passed away on January 21, 2014. He died peacefully at his beloved “Duck House” in Arroyo Grande following a 2 year battle with Cancer. He was 73 years of age.

Joe was born in San Luis Obispo on December 1, 1940 to parents Joseph Omer Rouette and Alice Ada Sims of Pismo Beach. Joseph was a member of the Arroyo Grande High School Class of 1958. Joseph enlisted and entered the United States Army before graduation, serving his country for 3 years. Upon completion of his service, he enrolled and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Long Beach State University. After graduation, Joseph worked for Hunt Wesson-ConAgra Foods, for over 35  years. He retired with over 1 million air miles flown. Joseph was married to Jayne Rouette until her death in 1999 and had 3 children. In 2001, he met his second wife Terry. They were married in 2004 and moved from Orange County to Valley Center, CA.

Joseph and Terry are lifetime members of the Corvettes Southern California Car Club. Joseph was the proud owner of a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. He was also a life-long fan of the NFL Oakland Raiders.

Joseph was a one-of-a-kind personality who loved to make people laugh and was always ready and willing to share his wisdom with family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Terry Rouette of Arroyo Grande and Valley Center and granddaughter Renee Terbush.

RIP my dear Uncle Joe. I will miss all our "deep" conversations about life, kids, money, and football ( how bad your Raiders are). You have become a lasting memory in my life, and I think about you often. I miss you. See you soon my friend.

Joe you had a gracious heart, a quick wit and a friendly smile. You ALMOST made being a Raider fan not so bad. Almost. I will miss you. xoxo
