GROVER CITY - A funeral service for Jewel Elaine Delamar Osby, 19, 508 S. Oakley St., will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Springfield Baptist Church in San Luis Obispo with the Rev. E.A. Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Mrs. Osby died Friday in a Santa Maria hospital following a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 20, 1952, in San Luis Obispo and attended Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande schools. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Osby of Santa Maria; one son, Melvin Osby Jr of Santa Maria; one daughter, Helena Osby of daughter, Helena Osby Santa Maria; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Delamar of Pismo Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Bell of Santa Maria and Miss Annette Delamar of Pismo Beach; one brother, Andrew Delamar Jr. of Pismo Beach; her grandmother, Mrs. Zadie Delamar of Texas, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The Grensted Mortuary in Grover City will have charge of arrangements and friends may visit on Monday and Tuesday until 10 p.m. and Wednesday until 10:30 a.m.Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Nickson, Roosevelt Campbell, Ronny Gupton, Charles Smith, Howace Glenn and Steve Brown.

I remember Elaine. She was a very nice girl, a little cutie. Her sister Annette passed away not too long ago. She has a brother, Andrew who lives in SLO and a sister in SM. Her mother, Ora is living in Pismo.
