James R. Gomez ARROYO GRANDE -Rosary was recited Tuesday in St. Josephs Catholic Church, Nipomo, for James Ray Gomez, 20, who died July 4 as the result of an auto accident on Highway 1. Mass was said in St. Josephs Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Silvano Girolami officiating. Interment followed in Santa Maria cemetery with Wood Chapel in charge of arrangements. Gomez, born Nov. 6, 1958 in Santa Maria, was a lifetime resident of Nipomo residing at Rt. 1, South Oak Glen. Discharged from the US. Marine Corps in May, he was a veteran of Vietnam, being injured three times while there. A member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, he attended Arroyo Grande High School. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond D. Gomez, Nipomo; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Groham, Santa Maria; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Gomez, Wyoming; two sisters, Mrs. Marlene Blackmon, Oklahoma City, Okla. and Miss Jo Ann Gomez, Bakersfield; and a brother, David Gomez, Nipomo.
