This just really makes you stop and think... life is short and we should all be thankful for everyday. I dont think I ever saw Heather without that smile.

I was on the team too and we all had so much fun! Heather was the sweetest person you would ever meet. Simi Valley speech tournament and staying overnight down there was memorable. Ms. Smee was so awesome!!!!!

I just found this website. Heather passed Dec. 8, 2004 from a fall she had during a seizure. After 7 years, I am kinda getting through it. Her daughter, Clarissa, who we have raised, is going to graduate high school this June! It was wonderful to read your comments. Thanks, Paula Simila (Mom) in Bend, OR

Dear Pamela,
I was friends with Heather in h.s. and I went on a ski trip with your family once. ;-) I had never skied before and I had a difficult time during the group lessons. You and your husband suggested that Heather and I take a private lesson. It was much better, but i still didn't learn how to ski. We laughed so much together. I just loved Heather and her laugh. Blessings to you.

Heather and I were on the Speech Team together. Ms. Smee set us up for the Winter Formal my Junior year. I was so nervous when I tried to ask her to go with me. I remember how she looked when she told me to get over myself, that Ms. Smee had already told me that she had set the whole thing up. I had a great time with her at the dance and at school for the next year and a half. I have told the story of my first formal to my children many times, tonight I will tell them about her passing. I am truly saddened by her death.

We were probably on the same speech and debate team with Ms. Smee and Heather. I could not remember how I knew her in high school but seeing these comments, now I remember! She was the absolute sweetest person. I remember a tournament in Simi Valley and staying overnight at the hotel near the HS. Such fun and wholesome times. Life can be so damn short and you never expect it. Those were such great times!
