Guy Walters was killed in a car accident shortly before he would have graduated with us in 1980. I am not sure of the 9-4-2009 date above his class picture but he died in 1980. It was a very tragic loss to many people. He is truly missed!

Guy Walters was loved by many at our school. The entire Walters family was for that matter. I was in his brother's Steve grade and both those guys were fun to be around---always making you feel good and making you laugh. It was a great loss to us all when Guy tragically died in a needless car accident--the service was well attended and a reminder to all of us buddies of how much we loved each other and shouldn't take for granted a day we could spend together. Us Eagles seemed to take special notice with apprectiation for each other fromt his moment on.

I had Guy in several classes from 78-80. When I moved to Arroyo Grande and started attending AGHS from the first day Guy made me feel welcome. He sit behind me in Mrs. Otsugi's Math Class and most people didn't realize this, but he used to cheat off of my tests to keep his grades up to play football. Guy also loved it any time I was able to outwit Eric Pierce in a riddle, he would reach forward, grab my shoulders and shake me like a ragdoll and say "All right Keebler Buddy, you shut him down"! I remember the day of the accident, it shook me up pretty bad when I found out. Walked from Margaret Harlow Elementary to AGHS and back for a week, I couldn't drive my car. Every accident I hear about I think of Guy. He will always be missed, what a Guy!!!

Guy was a friend to everybody. He was my church buddy and my friend at school. The type of person, if he was in a Hollywood film, would stand between the bully and the little. The back-to-back loss of Guy and Kirk Young, Guys close friend, shook us all. But, there are good memories because of both of them.

It doesn’t seem to matter how many years go by, every time I see a post of Guy’s passing it still tears me apart. Guy Walters was one of those friends that you never forget. He was gentle and kind hearted and always made you feel good inside no matter what kind of day you were having. He felt like family. He was a big giant teddy bear of a friend and I will always miss him. It was such a giant tragedy and loss in our lives to lose him the year that we graduated. And just one month shy of our graduation at that. It was so devastating. Our AGHS class of 1980 suffered a horrible loss losing guy!
I’ll never be able to drive by that spot without thinking of him and the huge loss it left his family and his friends. I miss you Guy... I miss your hugs and your BIG smile and even your teasing which was horrible at times LOL....but mostly I miss your friendship. I was blessed to have you in my life the short time I had you though.
Until we meet again my friend....😘♥️😇🙏🏻

My dad was his wrestling coach and I remember being pick on alot when I was a kid at 10 years old-- Guy would always pick me up and help me, he was a hero to me, so when he got into a car accident and was struggling with his life, I remember praying so hard for him!! But it wasn't to be, it was my first major loss in my life-- he was a friend to me!! RIP!!

I was both Steve and Guy boyhood friend in the early 70's....I used to live on Corbett canyon rd and they both were great friends to have around!!! I found out about Guy's unfortunate demise in 82' from another family friend who lived just up the road between us and the Walters...I miss you buddy...
