Fernando Duarte Silva, 43, of Nipomo, passed away Sunday morning at his home after a long battle of illness.

He was born to Jorge Silva and Dagmar Silva, April 30, 1970, in Terceira, Azores and was a longtime resident of Nipomo.

He was kindhearted man who adored his family. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed sitting in his backyard and spending time with his family.

Fernando is survived by his parents Jorge and Dagmar Silva; his brothers Jorge Silva, Paul Silva, Darley Silva, Michael Silva, and his sister Carla Silva. He also had many nephews and niece that will miss him dearly.

The funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nipomo on Thursday, September 12th, 2013. The viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00, the mass following at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery and a reception will follow at St. Joseph’s Church.

I have known Fernando and his family since I was 12. I even dated his brother Paul for a bit. I love his family very much. He is missed dearly. Love you my friend.
