DORIS JONES GULLICKSON
1926-2007
Doris Jones Gullickson, 81, of Arroyo Grande,
passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007.
Born in Orland, California, she moved to Arroyo Grande in 1942 and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School with the class of 1944. Doris married Don Gullickson in Arroyo Grande on March 20, 1945. During WWII, she worked at Ryan Aeronautical in San Diego as a rivitor. She served as a campfire leader, was an active bowler, and in later years was a member of several local quilt guilds.
Doris is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Don; three daughters, Linda (Gerald) Wilson of Santa Maria, Gail Ellis of Ventura, and Janet (Mike) Heim of McKittrick; five grandchildren, David, Robert, Dennis, Heidi and Chad; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Dahlquist and Dolores Worden.
She was preceded in death by grandson Evan Wilson and sister Dorothy Thurman.
A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the South County Historical Society, PO Box 633, Arroyo Grande, CA 93421.
