Matthew William Oliver, 28, of Atascadero passed away at a local hospital, July 16, 2005.

A Going Home Celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m., July 20 at Gospel Lighthouse, 497 Fair Oaks in Arroyo Grande, Pastor Joseph Domingues will officiate.

Matt was born Aug. 12, 1976, he was a very loyal loving gentle giant. He had a unique sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Matt is survived by wife, Sonia; mother, Janice and stepfather, Graham Oldfield; father, Randy Oliver; grandfather, Gene Haddock; his aunts; uncles; and cousins. The family requests donations to the family in care of Gospel Lighthouse.

Bummed I never got to know my cousin as an adult.

We got to talk cameras once shortly before he passed on a visit to Mr. Dickerson's ROP photo class.

Bummer we never got to go out and shoot together!

I was blessed by God to be Matthew's mother. He was kind, respectful and loved the Lord and any mother would have been proud to call him Son. Matthew was my best friend in life and I miss him every single minute of every single day and I'm looking forward to receiving a great big Matthew hug when we are reunited.

I met Matt thru his Uncle Dennis I met Matt in 1981 He was the most thoughtful, kindest boy ever meet my daughter Annie was born in 1988 ,he loved to play with his cousin at the park he was such an awesome person. I talk to him right before he got married I never got to meet his Mother ,But you sure did a great job raising Matthew . When I heard he died the only thing I could think was he must of been an Angel because why else would God take him so young.... Matthew you are missed very much. Lisa and Annie Oliver
