Laurie Jean Meek, died after a five year battle with breast cancer on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at her home in Santa Margarita. Laurie was born in October 1951 in Hollywood, Calif., to Violet and Laurel Everett. She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School and later married Robert Meek on June 26, 1972, in San Luis Obispo and again on June 28, 1972, in Bellingham, Wash. With an amazing ferver for life, her hobbies included Harleys, horses, hiking, photography, pottery, sewing, pool, metal art, kids, grandkids and family. For all who knew Laurie, the room was always a better place when she entered. She will be deeply missed. Laurie is survived by her husband, Bob; two sons Scott and Collin; and daughter, Kristen; two grandchildren; a sister; and brother.
