Johnny "Faye" Brown
1947-2006

Faye went in peace with God on Sunday, June 18, 2006. She was 59 years of age. Faye was born on February 28, 1947 in Bakersfield, California to John and Mary Hendryx. Faye and her family moved to the Santa Maria Valley where she attended local elementary and middle schools and completed her schooling with the first graduating class of Righetti High School in 1964. In 1965, she married her high school sweetheart Eddie Brown (deceased) and had her only child, Sheila. After her divorce, Faye and her daughter moved to Oakland, California in 1968 where Faye worked at Spanger's Seafood Restaurant in Berkeley, California. In 1971, Faye returned to Santa Maria with her daughter and worked several jobs, including Cue & Cushion, Frederick's Italian Food, and Knudsen Frozen Food Packing Shed. In 1987, Faye moved to Arroyo Grande, California where she entered Casa Selana, a sober living home. After graduating from her program, she worked at Diablo Canyon Power Plant, later moving back to Santa Maria, California. Finally, she worked at Elleson's Chevron "South" and retired from Foods for the Family in Santa Maria.

In 2003, Faye moved to Salinas, California, returning in 2005 where she resided in Los Alamos, California until she passed away at a local hospital.
Faye loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, long days at the beach with her family and/or significant other, or alone with her dog. Faye was a collector of rocks and seashells of all shapes, sizes and colors.
Faye is survived by her daughter Sheila Lynn Brown-Pili, grandchildren Robert J. R. Harvel and Gabrielle R. Pili, mother Mary Hendryx, brother and sister-in-law Butch and Sally Hendryx, sister and brother-in-law Rejeana and David Mittelberger, all of Santa Maria, California, brother Otis Hendryx of Bass Lake, California, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces throughout California and other states.
As per Faye's request, no services will be held. Faye will be greatly missed as a daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, mother and friend.
If you wish, cards and/or donations for Faye can be sent to: Sheila Pili, P. O. Box 1055, Los Alamos, California, 93440.
