John William "Bill" Zweifel

San Luis Obispo, California - John William, "Bill," Zweifel passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022 at the age of 81 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born in Dover, Delaware on January 13, 1941 and moved to San Luis Obispo a few years later. Bill was a proud member of the community and spent many hours volunteering for anyone who needed a helping hand. He loved San Luis Obispo and raised his family there. He made his living as a hairdresser and is best known as the owner of Bill's Salon of Beauty. He had many hobbies and pastimes such as BBQing, playing poker, and cutting wood with friends. He was a longtime member of the local Kiwanis group, supporter of Mission Church, cheered on Cal Poly sports, and was a proud graduate of Mission College Prep, Class of 1960. He lived life to the fullest and loved his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Zweifel of Fremont, CA and Kristina Zweifel Agmon of Novato, CA, son-in-law Ofhir Agmon and grandsons, Reilly and Ben Agmon. He had the benefit of a bonus daughter in Kim Anselmi with her husband Mark Anselmi, and their daughters Katie Yamagata and Anna Anselmi. He is also survived by his 4 sisters-Vickie Wallace, Madeline Bonanfont, Michelle Perry and Mary Hegedus as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at Old Mission Church, 751 Palm St, San Luis Obispo, on Monday November 7th at 10am with a Celebration of Life gathering immediately following the funeral at the Elks Club, 222 Elks Lane, San Luis Obispo.
