John U. Becker, 58, of Arroyo Grande died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Arroyo Grande.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel of Grover Beach.
John was born July 28, 1945, in Sacramento and lived on the Central Coast since 1952. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1964. John was a general contractor and owned Becker Electric. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge in Oceano and was known for his barbecues. John took pride in helping others. He was loved and will be missed by so many.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Becker of Arroyo Grande; son Brian of Arroyo Grande; brother Jerry Becker and wife Maryann of Arroyo Grande; sisters, Pat Peterson and husband Ray of Atascadero, Shirley Bace and husband Delbert of Arroyo Grande, Marrilee Fisher and husband Harry of Oceano, Gayle Becker of Nipomo and Dayna Wengeler and husband Robert of Arroyo Grande; grandchildren, Jonathan, Chelsie and Dillon of Grover Beach; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Randy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to a trust that has been established in his name at any Mid-State Bank.
