Jerry Mac Stephenson, 58, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at New Life Community Church, 990 James Way, in Pismo Beach.
Jerry was born Nov. 14, 1946, in Santa Ana, Texas. When he was three, his family moved from Texas to Bakersfield and then to Arroyo Grande when he was 10. He attended Arroyo Grande High School. Jerry attended Barber College in Bakersfield when he was 18 and returned here to work in local barber shops. In 1966, he married his wife of 38 years, Susan Caltabiano.
Jerry started framing with his brother, Larry, then got his contractors license and started Stephenson Construction. He built and developed many homes and subdivisions and was involved in several partnerships in the construction industry with local friends.
Jerry loved to have fun with friends and family. He enjoyed the lake and golfing, and being surrounded by friends. Jerry was a "very proud American." He had a very generous spirit and was always willing to help out anyone in need. He will be dearly missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Susan Stephenson of Arroyo Grande; daughter, Lisa Stephenson and husband, Tony Toste; grandchildren, Joshua Stephenson and Brooke Toste, all of Arroyo Grande; son, Jack Stephenson of Arroyo Grande; brother, Bobby Stephenson and wife, Linda, of Arroyo Grande; nephews, Brian and Nick Stephenson of Arroyo Grande; brother, Paul Stephenson and wife, Anita, of Redlands; nephews, Dale Stephenson of Bakersfield and Doug Stephenson of Redlands; sister, Jean Rohten of Texas; nephews and niece, Malcom and Ricky Stewart, and Janet Stewart, all of Texas; sister, Claudia Caldwell of Pismo Beach; nephews, Michael Stephens of Arroyo Grande and Terry Stephens of Bakersfield; and nieces, Ronna Stephenson of
Nipomo and Darla Stone of Santa Maria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Stephenson; two brothers, Larry and Jack Stephenson; and nephew, Darrin Stephenson.
