Please Feel Free To Leave A Comment Or A Memory You Had With Jimmy~
October 1 ~ December 22, 2009
James "Jimmy" David Miles, 46, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009. He was born to David Alan and Jean Marie Miles in Los Angeles, Calif. Jimmy moved with his mother, Jean, and stepfather, Peter J. Sysak, with his brother and sister to Arroyo Grande where sister, Julie and brother, Jason were born. Jimmy loved growing up on "the ranch," where there was an abundance of critters to hunt. He attended Pauling Middle School where he held a long time running record for the mile. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School, Jimmy and Becky, the love of his life, were married for 23 years and raised their three boys in Atascadero. There he was an active and supportive athletic coach for many years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed the peacefulness of God''s creation. James had an extraordinary work ethic, was a member of Carpenter''s Local Union No. 1800 for 20 years and was employed by Maino Construction Co. In the past 18 months, he fought hard to prolong his life from a rare form of sarcoma. His battle included many trips to UCLA for treatment and surgery. We want to thank the many physicians, including Dr. Untal and Dr. Dichmann, the medical staff of French Hospital, Marian Medical Center, and UCLA Medical Center, who worked to give Jim additional time with his family. We are grateful for the Hospice Home Care nurses. James is survived by his wife, Becky; children Kristina, David, James, and Nolan; mother and stepfather, Jean and Pete Sysak; brother. John (Kelly) Miles; sister, Jennifer Jouett of Mariposa, Calif., and sister, Julie Sysak of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Jason Sysak of Arroyo Grande; grandchildren Jordan, Marshall and Kambaria; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David Miles. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Atascadero Bible Church, 6225 Atascadero Mall in Atascadero.
