Eric Heidepriem ARROYO GRANDE - Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 4 p.m. at the First Methodist Church here for Eric Lawrence Heidepriem, 16, who was killed in an auto accident Monday near Santa Maria. The Rev. William Black will officiate. A large number of high school classmates are expected to turn out for the funeral for the athlete who starred in swimming at Arroyo Grande high school where he was a junior. He was a member of the summer competitive swimming team and Arroyo Grande high school team that went to state competition. He also was a member of the AGHS band. Boy Scout Troop 29 and sang in the choir at the Methodist Church. He was killed Monday when his small sports car overturned on a sharp curve on a backroad near Santa Maria. A passenger, David Greer, was injured only slightly in the accident. Eric Heidepriem was born in Milbank, South Dakota on Sept. 16, 1953 and had been a resident of this area for nine years. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Heidepriem, both teachers in the Lucia Mar Unified School District, two brothers, Mark, a 1969 graduate of Arroyo Grande High School, and Kurt; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Erickson of Iowa; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Heidepriem of South Dakota. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eric Heidepriem memorial fund for community swimming activities. They may be sent to the
