Eisabel "Ezzy" Peña was born in May 1955 in Las Vegas, N.M., and passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at his home in San Luis Obispo. Ezzy graduated from Arroyo Grande High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State University. He started his career as a police officer in Monterey, Calif., and then became a deputy sheriff with San Luis Obispo County, having retired as a police officer of the San Luis Obispo Police Department. Ezzy was Exalted Ruler for two years at Elks Lodge #322 and Governor at the Moose Lodge #1401. He spent many hours volunteering in lodge activities and preparing dinners for members and guests. He spent many vacations with family and friends and traveled in the Baja, Cabo San Lucas and in the southwestern U.S. He will be remembered for his love of barbecuing and entertaining family and friends. Ezzy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kristy; daughter, LeighAnn; mother, Gregorita Peña; and sister, Matildita Branch. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Elk''s Lodge, 222 Elks Ln., in San Luis Obispo, with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Elks National Foundation.
