Craig Kathary
Craig Kathary, 38, a lifelong Grover Beach area resident, passed away, Saturday, April 21, 2007.
Craig is survived by his loving family: wife Diana; daughter Ericka; grandson Dylan; parents Larry and Shirley; sister Teri; grandmother Mildred Davis; nieces Amber, Ashley, Trisha and Trina Shrode; grandnephew Isaiah; aunt Evelyn Zanella and husband Mark. Craig is also survived by his many good friends.

Craig is the son of Larry and Shirley Kathary, brother of Teri Kathary, Uncle to Amber, Ashley, Trisha and Trina Shrode and My Beloved Husband. He was a man that loved his family above all things. Never was a mean word spoken about another human being by him. He was always there for those in need, even strangers that crossed his path. His smile and his laugh was contagious, you couldn't help but to love him upon meeting this gentle giant. He was a loyal and true friend to those who were blessed to have known him. His childhood was spent racing motorcycles with his father and his friends every weekend. He was a surrogate father to his four nieces later on in life. I was blessed to have crossed paths with him and knew from the moment I laid eyes on him that he was the one I had prayed for God to send my way. The love we shared will last through eternity and I thank god everyday for him coming into my life and loving me the way he did, truely, sweetly and completely. His memory will live on and I will do everything in my power to keep it alive as long as I have a breath in my body. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he will be waiting for me when my soul leaves this shell that it now lives in. Craig was and is the love of my life here and on the other side...He is my soulmate.

Craig was a cool guy. He raced motocross with Mike, Troy and Russ Pryor, Jeff Sills, Tony Toste, Gary Rikki and all those guys. He was the biggest shocker when I found this group, but far from being the only one I was surpirsed to hear about. It's unbeliveable how hard the classes of '85, '86, and '87 were hit, and in so many inexplicable ways.

I have never met another person who enjoyed life as Craig did. He had the best sense of humor. If everyone enjoyed life as Craig did, it would be a much better place.
