Betty Gregory Bosley of Lompoc died Friday, December 4, 2009, at the age of 78.
Betty was born on August 25, 1931, in Bakersfield to Jess and Elizabeth Reinert. She was raised and educated in Maricopa and later moved to Arroyo Grande where she graduated from Arroyo Grand High School with the class of 1949. She was employed for 30 years as a bookkeeper with the Lompoc Unified School District and retired in 1987.
Betty was a huge Dodgers fan and loved camping and cruising. She and her husband recently traveled for one year visiting many beautiful places. Betty was a member of Women of the Moose, a past vice president of the Lompoc Hospital Auxiliary, and a former member of the American Legion in Lompoc.
Betty is survived by her husband of 25 years Clifford Bosley of Lompoc; son and daughter-in-law Philip and Misty Gregory of Fairfield, daughter Janet Howren of Lompoc, son Michael Bosley of Ventura, daughter Dee Bosley of Ventura, daughter Linda Bosley of Moorpark, daughter and son-in-law Robin and Jeff Thompson of Roseville, daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Jeff Richards of Napa; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sister Lee Duggan of Lompoc, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia and her first husband Earl Gregory in 1983.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, from 4 to 7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Veteran's Memorial Building at 100 East Locust Avenue, followed by a Celebration of Life reception. Private family interment will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Published in Lompoc Record on December 9, 2009
