Barbara Victoria (Santos) Ambler of Grover Beach passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct.30, 2013, in Grover Beach at the age of 66. She was born in Santa Maria to Ruth and Peter Santos. She attended schools in Arroyo Grande and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1966. Barbi married the love of her life, Ray Ambler, on June 25, 1967 after just three short months of courtship and they were married for 46 years. Barbi was part of the Miner's Hardware stores for over 25 years and more recently she worked as a bookkeeper for both Heacock Trailers and R & T Embroidery. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone she came across. Being a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend were true passions for Barbi and it showed in everything she did. Barbi is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ray Ambler Sr.; son, Ray (Rochelle) Ambler Jr.; daughters, Tamara Baglin and Staci (Mark) McKay; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons who are on their way; and many other family and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth and Peter Santos; brother, Mark; and sister, Susan Elizabeth. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the Portuguese Hall in Arroyo Grande. Casual attire please.
