Please Feel Free To Leave A Comment Or A Memory You Had With Armand~
Armand H. Carpentier (Armand Jr.), passed on May 1, 2017. He grew up in Arroyo Grande, Calif., graduating from AGHS in 1966 where he was on the swim team and lettered in football and tennis. He and his buddies surfed the waves of 'Little Hawaii' a term they coined for the area off of Wilmar in Pismo. Later he followed his interests in film and photography at Cuesta, San Francisco State and in L.A.. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and after in the Old Guard, National Guard and as Sgt. in the U.S. Army Reserve. Armand had life long friends and new friends for life and he liked connecting them with each other. Fishing and road trips with friends and cousins were common place as young adults and often reminisced upon. His concern for others frequently found him checking in on them, visiting and taking them to appointments or on errands. Sharing the harvest from his lemon trees, grape vines and other bounty gave him great joy. He was fully engaged in life, held a genuine interest in the lives of others and loved books from which he never stopped learning. The pride of his life came along in 1988 with the birth of his daughter Rachel. He enjoyed all their adventures together and loved watching her thrive and grow into the beautiful person she's become, highlighted by walking her down the aisle in 2014. Armand is survived by daughter Rachel; sisters Anita and Heidi; aunt Joyce; many cousins and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by parents Armand and Hertha Carpentier.
